Project
Description/Purpose:
The objectives for the
Twisp River project are to protect and restore functional side channel
and floodplain habitat to support salmon recovery in the Methow Basin.
Key elements necessary to achieve this objective include the acquisition
of priority properties within the project reach; restoration of riparian
communities on and adjacent to these properties; improving access and
passage for listed threatened and endangered fish species to off-channel
rearing and spawning habitat; implementing creative management
strategies that further salmon recovery actions throughout the Methow
basin; and increasing public awareness and access to salmon recovery
projects in the basin.
